State couple find city berth in cop reshuffle

Chhering Dorje SP,Chandrapur,will take charge of Zone 1 and his wife Aswati Dorje,SP,Vardha,will take charge of Zone 5. From the 2000 batch,Chhering was posted in J&K and Aswati in Assam and Meghalaya,before they got Maharashtra postings,their first being Gadchiroli. Having worked in Gadchiroli,Gondhia and Vardha and Chandrapur the couple now hope to bring their policing experience to the city police. Both have had a small stint with the Thane police. Aswati,who is also the first woman IPS officer to be posted in Naxalite posting adds,“tackling an issue here is more people-centric. We have had to adapt to the region,local beliefs and other aspects.” Chhering adds “in our professional life we have put in our minds together to tackle issues and investigations. We have benefited from each other’s insights. I would look at it in a way that we have two heads working to reach a solution.”

Six zonal DCPs were transferred out of the city and new replacements announced. Vishwas Nangre Patil has been transferred as SP Thane (Rural),Milind Bharambe as SP Nashik Rural. Qaiser Khalid,DCP Western Railway,Mumbai,was posted as DCP Zone 2,even as Sanjay Mohite was transferred to the Police Training Academy in Marol.

Additional SP (Kolhapur) Sharda Nikam was posted as DCP Zone 7,while R M Vhatkar was transferred as SP Parbhani. SP (Nanded) Satyanarayan was posted as DCP Zone 11 to replace Sanjay Banerjee who was transferred to the State Reserve Police Force Group 7 in Daund. Anil Kumbhare,DCP Pune,was posted as DCP Zone 12,and Ajit Patil was transferred to the SID in Mumbai. Ashok Deshbratar,DCP Zone 1 Thane,was posted as DCP,WR,Mumbai. DCP (EOW,Mumbai) Punjabrao Ugle was transferred as Additional SP Beed.

In transfers expected,Vineet Agarwal is likely to be posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (Central Region) and Sadanand Date as Force One chief. Brijesh Singh is likely to be posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic). Vivek Phansalkar is likely to take over as Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and Sanjay Barve as Inspector General of Police (Aurangabad Range). Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) B D More is expected to be transferred as IG (Kolhapur Range),with Rashmi Shukla expected to replace him.
