Sourav Ganguly equalled Javagal Srinath’s ‘unwanted record’ of most ducks for India against South Africa by getting his fourth duck in 28 innings against the Proteas.
Srinath got them in 20 innings. Later in the innings, Anil Kumble joined the duo, making it four blobs in 34 innings against SA.
Only five times have a team won after scoring less than 100 in the first innings of a Test match. The last time it happened was more than 100 years ago, in 1907 when England beat South Africa by 53 runs in Leeds after making 76 in their first innings.
