  • Three Delhi University (DU) student organisations held a rally on Thursday to protest the recent fee hike implemented by the university. Apart from the rally, a three-day relay hunger strike begun by the All India Students’ Association also concluded on Thursday.

The All India Students Federation, Disha Students’ Organisation and the Students’ Federation of India came together to organise the rally at North Campus, after which student representatives submitted a memorandum addressed to the Vice-Chancellor. The Dean of Colleges Nayanjot Lahiri received it.

“Examination fees at the university have been doubled to Rs 100 per paper for undergraduate students and to Rs 150 per paper for postgraduate students,” the document states.

“The administration ...took this decision without any discussions in the Academic Council and the Executive Council,” it adds. The students have demanded that the university roll back the hike and refund those who have already paid the fees.
