Students protest against ‘fake’ pharmacy colleges

The protests by students of D J College of Pharmacy in Modi Nagar area entered its third day.

Students of two pharmacy colleges launched protests against their respective managements,accusing them of ‘faking’ their status as being affiliated to the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

The protests by students of D J College of Pharmacy in Modi Nagar area entered its third day today when they locked the gates of the college.

The students also registered a complaint with the District Magistrate against Chairman Ajit Singh,accusing him of duping them of lakhs of rupees taken as fees even though the college was not affiliated to the PCI.

In another instance,students of Oxford College of Pharmacy here lodged a complaint against five persons,including Chairman Upendra Mahato,in Musoori police station on similar charges of fake status.

The fate of the students hangs in the balance as the colleges are allegedly not recognised by the PCI.
