With representatives of various Khaps in Haryana reaching the Supreme Court on Monday to submit their viewpoints on the customs followed by them, the court asked the factions to submit their written opinions before it by February 18. The court had invited Khaps to submit their opinions in reply to a petition filed by NGO Shakti Vahini regarding cases of honour killings and female foeticide. Initially, the NGO's counsel had only invited Khaps of two districts in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and leaders from Meham Chowbisi to submit their viewpoints.
