Successful film does not guarantee next venture: Sujoy Ghosh

Sujoy Ghosh of Kahani fame feels the legacy of a successful film does not mean more offers falling in one's lap unless the content and script of the new project is up to the mark.

After spinning two back-to-back flops "Home Delivery" and "Aladin", Ghosh tasted success with the Vidya Balan-starrer "Kahani" last year.

When asked if he is in huge demand post-Kahani, he said, "Not really... I think a lot depends on what script I present to producers. If I have a bad script no one will back it. It is the content that determines our future and that is how it works."

Ghosh gave the audience credit for the success of "Kahani".

"'Kahani' is a success only because of the audience and not because of me. As lot of things have changed today for filmmakers and that is primarily because of the changing taste of audience," he said.

Ghosh, who made his Bollywood debut in 2003 through "Jhankaar Beats" said he faced rejection from producers umpteen times.

"I went begging on the streets to meet producers to back my films. I struggled a lot. It took almost three years for me to make a film. It was a tough journey. The industry rejected me when I came here. I faced rejection by most of them (filmmakers). But I continued to work hard and did not lose hope," he said.
