You’ve always been projected as the sweet girl. What are you like in real life?
I’ve somehow essayed roles with a traditional touch that tomorrow, when I look back, will indeed make me proud. But in real life, I am a typical Mumbai girl with a contemporary fashion sense.

Would you call yourself a girl-next-door or a fashionista?
A bit of both. I don’t refrain from wearing salwar kameez for the fear of being called a behenji. At the same time, in truth, my wardrobe has a total of one Indian outfit because I barely have occasions to wear them.

Your style in three words?
Customised, comfortable and confident.

Dressing up to you is a ritual or work?
When I entered the industry, I was too young and focused on acting to pay attention to the wardrobe demands that go with my job. Today, however, I realise the expectations attached to being an actor and try to live up to those. In the process, I’ve begun to love the shopping, dressing up and looking good to stand out on a regular basis.

Are you a fashion daredevil or do you play it safe with styles you’re familiar with?
I’d go with whatever excites me. Fashion, I believe, cannot be copied. It is created to suit the personality of an individual. So I experiment but in limits to ensure that it suits me.

What’s the funkiest item in your wardrobe?
A slinky and blingy copper sequined short dress.

And the highest heels that you possess?
I prefer the footwear to be comfortable. The highest I’ve worn is 3.5 inch.
