  • While welcoming the resignation of deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, the national secretary and state president of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat (RSS) Rulda Singh, today said by this timely action Sukhbir has saved his father, also the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal and the SAD-BJP alliance from embarrassment in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha session. In a scathing remark, RSS president said Sukhbir’s appointment went against the crusade of the Akalis, who have been opposing the ‘family rule’ of the Congress party.

Further, Rulda Singh said by appointing his CM’s son, SAD had not only lost out on a political weapon against the arch-rival Congress, but also reversed the direction of their weapon to face the party.

Elaborating his point Rulda Singh said, SAD claims its working as per the philosophy of Sikhism but none of the ten Masters (Gurus) had ever appointed their son as a successor. The Gurus always choose the deserving and pious soul as their successor, irrespective of age and relationship, said Rulda Singh.

He further made an emotional plea to the SAD that no such mistakes are repeated in future.
