Baljinder Singh,a supervisor at a local hosiery unit, was found brutally murdered on Tuesday morning. His throat had been slit and the body bore injury marks on the head. The hosiery unit is situated in Janakpuri area and according to the police,Baljinder had been working there for almost three years.
The deceased was originally from Kathunagal.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Narinderpal Singh Ruby and Station House Officer Gurinderjit Singh reached the spot in the morning along with fingerprint experts and a dog squad. Ruby said: According to owners of the factory,Singh used to sleep inside the unit. His body was spotted by a sweeper who came to clean the office in the morning. The owner of the factory was immediately informed and he found that Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and bank drafts worth Rs 2 lakh were missing.
Ruby added: From the manner in which the crime has been committed,it appears to be the handiwork of someone who knew Baljinder Singh and also the fact that he slept inside the factory alone. It is also clear that the culprits did not commit the crime in a hurry and took enough time to execute their plan.
The culprits, according to the police, wiped blood stains from the room and even locked it from outside before leaving the premises. Ruby said the police had some definite clues in hand and the culprits would be nabbed soon.
