Fire dept gets 250 calls
New Delhi: The Fire department received around 250 calls from across the Capital till Wednesday morning. The officials had a busy night as compared to last Diwali's 206 calls. Fire officials said on Tuesday there were a total of 184 calls, while from Tuesday midnight to Wednesday morning the officials attended to 66 calls. There was no major incident of fire, except one in Rohini where a woman suffered burn injuries while lighting diyas.
Class XI boy shot at
Ghaziabad: A student of Class XI was shot at in Kavi Nagar, Ghaziabad, on Tuesday night when he was returning home after distributing Diwali sweets. Police said Rahul Pal (15) suffered a gunshot injury to the head. The bullet has been removed from the skull and he is recuperating in the ICU of Sarvodaya Hospital. A police officer said: "The brother of the victim said they were walking home when a group of boys told them that they could not pass through that road. When they protested, one Vicky shot Rahul and all the boys fled. Passersby rushed Rahul to a hospital, where he was immediately taken in to surgery. His condition is said to be critical."
