The state BJP today hit back at rebel MP Rajan Sushant who has floated a non-political front, terming him a “Congress puppet” and predicting his early expulsion from the party.

The party reminded him that he had been expelled twice earlier from the BJP,and said that this time the doors would be closed for any possible re-entry.

State BJP general secretary Chander Mohan Thakur said Sushant has committed gross indiscipline by organising a convention in Shimla, where he had invited NSUI president Yadhupati Thakur,a clear sign of his closeness to certain Congress leaders .

“It has became fully evident that Sushant has become a puppet in the Congress’s hand and his campaign against the government and party is backed by the Congress leaders,” Thakur said, daring the BJP MP to quit his Lok Sabha seat if he proposes to wage a battle against the government or state leadership.

The BJP general secretary said that the party’s central leadership has already slapped a notice on Sushant. After getting his reply,or if he opts to ignore the notice,,the party will act appropriately,he said.

“State party president Khimi Ram has already expelled him from the party executive and recommended to the central leadership that it take disciplinary action against the defiant MP,who has tried to prove himself a personality much above the organisation,” he said.

In the presence of Ganesh Dutt, party spokesman,Thakur reminded Sushant that he was thrown out of the party after he had levelled allegations against BJP veteran Shanta Kumar. Thakur said Sushant was re-admitted after he came with folded hands and on bent knees, but was expelled again in 1996 when he floated a party,Nayaya Manch. Sushant then revolted against Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in 2000. He was said to be close to brokering a deal with former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh but then returned to the party.
