Sutil,Liuzzi to start 13th and 16th in Hungary GP

Force India's Adrian Sutil will start tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix at 13th position on the grid, just ahead of Michael Schumacher, while Vitantonio Liuzzi got himself at 16th slot as both the drivers failed to get into Q3 in today's qualifying.

Force India’s Adrian Sutil will start tomorrow’s Hungarian Grand Prix at 13th position on the grid, just ahead of Michael Schumacher, while Vitantonio Liuzzi got himself at 16th slot as both the drivers failed to get into Q3 in today’s qualifying.

Sutil, who just managed to sneak into Q2 by clocking 1:22.080 in Q1,improved his timing to 1:21.517 to settle for the 13th position.

Liuzzi, who had mechanical problems in the free practice session in the morning, recovered to record 12th fastest timing (1:21.789) in Q1 but slowed down to 1:21.927 to be sandwiched between Toro Rosso drivers Sibastean Buemi and Jamie Alguersuari in the 16th slot.

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel (1:18.773) secured his seventh pole position of the season and his teammate Mark Webber would join him in the front row.

Force India had missed out on points for the second time in the season at last week’s German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.

Sutil was satisfied with his position on the grid and has not lost hopes of getting points.

“I am quite happy about qualifying performance today. We are very close to top ten, which we didn’t think we would be after morning. We struggled to make soft tyres work again and in the end went out in qualifying not really having a clear picture on performance,so 13th position is a good result.

“We know tomorrow will be tough as it’s a hard place to overtake but our race pace is good. We will look to have a quick start, use strategy and pit stops to make a difference and try to gain as many positions as we can. I always think points are possible and I’ll be going into the race pretty positive after this performance today,” he said.

Liuzzi was also satisfied with his performance considering mechanical problems he faced in practice session.

“We had some problems with a driveshaft boot in the morning and didn’t run the soft tyres so we went into qualifying not knowing completely how we would perform.

“However the balance was very easy and we looked positive in Q1,setting a good time fairly quickly. Unfortunately I hit traffic in Q2 and didn’t get a clear lap,and then lost the rear in the last corner on my last lap,” said the Italian.

Vijay Mallya, chairman and team principal, said the team would aim to maintain its position despite not being at ideal positions on the grid.

“A very good effort on a track we know doesn’t completely suit us. It’s very twisty and low grip and our strengths tend to be more to the quicker, flowing circuits.

“We knew it would be a tough weekend but we’ve put ourselves in a reasonable position for tomorrow’s race. It’s not ideal, but bearing in mind the small issues this morning,to be just two tenths from Q3 is a very encouraging result,” he said.
