Swami Asimanand sent to judicial remand till Nov 30

Swami Asimanand was arrested by the CBI on Friday in Haridwar.

Naba Kumar Sarkar alias Swami Asimanand,who was arrested by the CBI for his alleged involvement in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast here,was today produced before a local court which sent him in judicial remand till November 30.

Swami Asimanand was arrested by the CBI yesterday in Haridwar in connection with the blast at the Mecca Masjid on May 18,2007,which left nine persons dead.

He was flown in from Delhi and brought to Nampally Criminal Court here amid tight security with his face covered and produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.

Later,the CBI moved two applications for sending him to judicial custody and another one seeking his custody for 15 days.
