Swine Flu claimed its first victim in the city with a 52-year-old man succumbing to the viral infection at a hospital here,taking the toll in Maharashtra to 85.

Swine Flu claimed its first victim in the city with a 52-year-old man succumbing to the viral infection at a hospital here,taking the toll in Maharashtra to 85.

Shriram Zade from Umrer died of swine flu on Sunday after he was brought here from a private hospital,Government Medical College Dean Dr Dipti Dongaonkar said on Tuesday.

Zade,an employee of the Western Coalfields Ltd,was also suffering from hypertension.

Two more patients admitted to GMC are in a serious condition,Dongaonkar said. A total of 334 cases of the flu have been reported at the GMC while 50 cases were recorded at the Indira Gandhi Hospital.
