It was supposed to be a perfect murder — a businessman suffers a fatal gunshot injury while his accountant gets killed by assailants who barge into his Greater Kailash-I house and opens indiscriminate fire.
The accused, named by the businessmen, remained elusive, as investigators drew a blank.
Two years on, the case has been overturned following a detailed probe. Now it emerges that the ‘victim’ first killed his accountant, and then inflicted injuries on himself to make it look like an attack.
Moreover, the “accused” named by the businessman are his own creditors — people who had given him loans. The slain accountant, too, had given him a loan.

On October 6, 2007, Hussain, who runs a zari business, was found unconscious while his accountant, Kailash Chand Sethi, lay in a pool of blood with his throat slit in his GK-I house.
Hussain was rushed to AIIMS trauma centre where he recorded his statement according to which 10 to 12 armed persons, including one Irshad Ahmed, had barged into his house and attacked him and his accountant.
Discharged from hospital on October 31, Hussain was provided round-the-clock police security.
However, once the investigators put everyone named as accused by Hussain under surveillance, the case took a different turn.
