Impressed with the success of 24-hour Lok Sabha Television (LSTV) channel, three state assemblies are exploring the possibility of launching their own channels for a live telecast of proceedings, sources disclosed here on Tuesday.

The Assemblies of Maharashtra,Karnataka and Chhattisgarh have approached the Lok Sabha Secretariat for information about logistical and financial support needed. A team from Maharashtra recently visited Parliament for a close look at the LSTV set-up,sources said. A delegation from Karnataka had come too.

The Rajya Sabha, which had initially teamed up with the Lok Sabha to set up Sansad TV and had subsequently got off the board,is now trying to catch up with the Lok Sabha with its own TV network. Functioning out of a government bungalow near the Parliament House, the Rajya Sabha TV is currently busy recruiting staff. In 2006,DD Lok Sabha was replaced by Lok Sabha TV.
