If we want to make India’s democracy failure-proof, let us raise our voice against what we think is wrong, even at the risk of suffering hardships. Let us campaign for a leadership culture that promotes merit and does not privilege birth. Let us demand far-reaching electoral reforms, including state funding of elections, whereby money power cannot steal or subvert people’s mandate. Let us force greater accountability upon our political leaders. And let us be vigilant in safeguarding the sanctity of our democratic institutions. If we fail democracy, democracy will fail us.

They are the root-cause of poor governance. Ideally speaking, our political parties should be democratic, transparent, accountable and led by people who are visionaries and expert in implementing policies. Members of Parliament should have a proven track record of public service. Merit and not dynasty should be the basic requirement of leaders of political parties.

In this money game of politics, a Dynastic Family has an enormous advantage- they have more money than others, more power, more of their people planted in the media, in the industry and in the judiciary and in all departments of government that is why they win most of the time. It is also a fact that there are many in India who have no self-respect and a sense of self-worth - these are the ones who become slaves, The Dynasty uses precisely such people. (Just count the number of ministers in the congress government from Nehru-Indira Gandhi's time who were not slaves – only a handful). We must remember that our country has even been ruled by slaves in the 12 century – things have not changed much!Unfortunately in India all people may be equal, but all Families are not equal. There must be a law for debarring a family from having more than one person as PM or President for 5 generations.
