  • Taliban in Kashmir
Security forces believe that Taliban is not just knocking at the borders, but is inside Kashmir now.

If security agencies are to be believed, Taliban is not just knocking at the borders, but they are inside Kashmir now.

The recent alleged intercepts of Lashker-e-Toiba militants and Hizb-ul- Mujahideen cadres by the police and security agencies indicate the presence of battle hardened Taliban militants in the frontier district of Kupwara.

Police sources said that on March 26 a large group of militants which sneaked in valley through Gurez sector had many Taliban militants, managed to reach Kupwara. It was during these days that police received an intercept between two LeT operatives talking about the presence of Taliban militants.

According to police sources one of the operative on this side informs the other that ‘the new people who have come are all Taliban and they are only talking about killings and getting killed. We are really fed up with these (Taliban) people. What to do?”

The other operative replies in Urdu saying, “Throw them out.”

According to intercepts, he further adds, “I will have to consult ‘bade bhai.”

Top police officials in J-K maintain that the militants killed in recent three encounters along the Line of Control in Kupwara and Gurez sectors didn’t belong either to Lashkar, Jaish or other militant organisation operating in Kashmir. But they stop short of confirming these militants as actually belonging to Taliban ranks for various reasons.

“An official confirmation about the presence of Taliban militants in Kashmir means direct American intervention at some level, as Americans have now been chasing Taliban every where they go,” a police officer said.

    ... contd.

A FAILED GOVERNMENT - By: Devadas | 09-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward The Central Government cannot give a free hand to the armed forces for the fear of losing Muslim vote bank. Look at the Faisal Guru who has been sentenced to death. How many years have no passed. Did the government implemented the sentence. Is there anybody in the Congress party who has at least an iota of patriotism. A person who was proved and sentenced to death for attaching the most important place, the Parliament of India, is just passing the time in jail. Why because the members of the Congress party are there NOT TO SERVE THE NATION BUT TO SERVE THEMSELVES. India is now a shameful country becaue it cannot punish the criminal who dared to kill the PM and all the MPS and have killed a few guards, due to his religious identity. This is the state of affairs of our democracy. SO at least be wise to vote this time.
Swarming TalibanBy: Hero Vaz | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward With the gutless UPA Govt. in position, anything anti-India can be expected to happen and nothing effective will be done. The Taliban are seeking sanctuaries because of the mess the Americans have made in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Taliban in KashmirBy: Gulal | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward This is a white lie spread by some vested interests who want to cow down Omer Abdullah while helping his party by encouraging non-participation in coming elections. In the latter case the PDP is going to lose. Those spreading the canard must know that with it they may be in a position to retain a few camps here and there in civilian areas but they cannot prevent the entry of Uncle Sam's white Satans in J
Should this be in Public DomainBy: Kamalakkannan M | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward If the Agencies have found some kind of evidence to point the presence of Militants in Indian Soil, they should find and kill the rascals.I dont understand why these things are brought to general public's notice. In the end it is like alerting the rascals and telling them that we are coming after you so go and hide somewhere.Keep it close to your chest, finish the operation and then tell the world about your success in eliminating the rascals.Dont just keep leaking your findings to the general public and look like under achievers who could not put and end to the problem.
Beware of US gameplanBy: KVSKumar | 08-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward The report suggests that everything is going as per Americal plans. Pakistan and US together created Al-Queida and the Taliban to fight the Soviet forces in Afghanistan. And the Pak was handsomely rewarded in terms of Money and military hardware. Pak, with tacit US understanding diverted some of these elements for fighting India and at the same time purchased Missile and Nuclear technology from North Korea and China respectively. Meanwhile, the Soviets was defeated Afghanistan was pushed back to stone age and then retrieved from the Taliban by US and allied forces. When Taliban was jobless, they penetrated Pakistan and that country is now on the verge of collapse and the Taliban is now threatening to penetrate parts of India. So what now. Should we leave it to the US to fight Taliban on our soil? Then await for the same fate to befal on us as in the case o Pakistan. The US will have unsettled the entire South Asia to milk fo for generations. Beware of US game plan.
