Inamdar felicitated
Meena Inamdar, director of Apratim Sadi, Pune, was awarded with the Priyadashni Asmita Award by Maharashtra Journalist Foundation as a successful woman entrepreneur, in Mumbai. The award was given by Sharad Upadhyay. Rajiv Lohar, president of the foundation, said, "The award was given because she works from home, maintains high standards, has honesty and has been helping weavers from all parts of the country for the last 25 years."
Constructing lives
Vibha, an NGO that works for the upliftment of underprivileged children to make their lives better and brighter, has organised a three day workshop this month. The workshop that involves participation of various construction companies from Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Pune, will be held in co-ordination with Doorstepschool to cover all aspects of planning, implementing, monitoring and documenting a model that provides quality education at the door-steps of un-reached migrant population of construction workers' children. Twenty seven participants participants from 16 organisations will be attending this workshop that emphasises the role being played by the builders' community as a major stakeholder in addressing this cause in Pune.
