What is your new show on SAB TV, Thank You Jijaji, all about?
It is a spoof on bureaucracy in our country. I play the jijaji to a very respected senior IAS officer of excise and taxation. Everyone at work and home is extremely scared of him, but he is very scared of his brother-in-law, played by me.
Why have you given so much importance to the brother-in-law?
In Indian families the jijaji is always talked about with a lot of love. If you notice, in wedding it’s the jijaji that is the most important. If the jijaji is angry then everyone is worried, if the jijaji is happy then the wedding was a success.
Will Flop Show ever make a comeback?
You will see lots of Flop Show on Thank You Jijaji. In this show too we have a lot of family and bureaucracy spoofs. If you liked that show, you will definitely like this one.
What do you think of the stand up comedy shows that are all over TV these days?
I think when they are looking for the judges, they look for people who can laugh for the longest time and jump the highest from his chair. That’s all the judges do nowadays and it is highly irritating.
What is your Recession Party, doing now?
We will come back the next election. The main reason for forming this party was to show everyone what a joke our political system is. Especially with the handling of the recession. If the Congress cannot do any good this term, the Recession Party will be back.
