If you were a participant,do you think you would have been able to survive the show?
I don’t know about that. But after all that I have seen here I think it is best for me to sit and observe the participants in action. The term ‘reality’ is abused these days,but with this show,one will actually know what reality shows are like.

Have you seen the original show,I’m A Celebrity,Get Me Out Of Here? What did you like about it?
The makers of the Indian version and the channel Sony provided me with the tapes of the original. I did see all the episodes.
Personally,it was the technical aspect of the show that really appealed to me. It is very difficult to set up cameras and record voices in the forest. These people had done an excellent job.

Most people have often named you as their favourite anchor. Whose work do you look up to?
I am flattered when people tell me that they like my work. From my shrieking voice in Tol Mol ke Bol to now I feel I have come a long way. That’s because I love my job. But for me it is the hosts of American Idol Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman who are very good.

Is there a particular genre you like anchoring?
As a professional anchor,you should be ready to explore all genres of anchoring. The fact that you can fit into any given scenario; be it the comforts of an air-conditioned studio or a wild forest,is what makes you a professional anchor.

Indian television too seems to be going international these days.
Indian television was in its worst phase five years ago,when there was a rut of saas bahu sagas.
But it seems to have opened up finally. With shows like these we can only hope to progress.

What next?
I am stationed here for the next two months. For the moment all I can say is Iss Jungle se mujhe koi bachao.
