After one failed marriage, you are now opting for another union on NDTV Imagine. Do you still have faith in the institution?
Of course, I do. When I married the first time, things did not work out because of compatibility issues and our difference in opinions and ideas. Just because I failed the first time doesn’t mean that I will fail each time. I have decided to take this step again because one needs to find their soul mate in order to lead a complete life. And I feel it is high time I did.

Was Rakhi Sawant your inspiration?
Rakhi definitely started the trend, but she is not my inspiration. I wanted to be a part of it out of my own free will. I wanted to test the waters myself before I plunge into the sea.

Rakhi after choosing a groom has now called off the engagement. Do you think there are chances of something similar happening with you?
Whatever has happened with Rakhi, it’s her personal decision and her personal life. I would not like to comment on it. But when I have short-listed 16 girls out of the hundreds of application that I got, I will make sure I will choose a sensible partner. Even after short-listing girls if I am not able to find my life partner, then it means there is a lack of stability somewhere.

Why did you choose television to find a match for yourself?
Television is the biggest medium today. It beams into the remotest corners of the country and hence this was the best way to reach out to as many people as possible.
