  • The employees of a leading Tamil-language newspaper in Sri Lanka have received death threats allegedly by a “shadowy group”.

E Saravanapavan, Managing Director of Uthayan, has alleged that the shadowy group has ordered his employees to quit their jobs or get killed, BBC reported on Thursday. Uthayan is the biggest selling Tamil daily in the northern district of Jaffna.

Saravanapavan said he had to rush to Jaffna in the north from Colombo following the threats, which came from a group called the Tamil Alliance to Protect the Country’.
