Tamil industry fasts in support of Anna Hazare

The Tamil film industry observed a days fast on August 23 in support of Anna Hazare and his movement demanding the Lokpal Bill. Over 200 members of the film fraternity in Chennai attended the day long fast which began at 9 am and ended at 5 pm. Those present included Suriya,Cheran,Arjun,Parthiban,Chithra Lakshmanan,A.R. Murugadoss,R.K.Selvamani,Rohini,Pyramid Natarajan.

Superstar Rajinikanth,who is recuperating,has supported the stars fast and also sent a statement in support to the Chennai Chapter of India Against Corruption. He stated that corruption has to be fought and weeded out from society and also expressed happiness at the fact that a dedicated leader like Anna Hazare has taken the lead in the fight against corruption. He said that he was proud to be an Indian and lent full support to the movement for Lokpal Bill.
