P DMello Road was clogged for more than 12 hours on Wednesday and witnessed long traffic jams after a tanker developed technical problems and got stuck near Masjid Bunder.

Pydhonie traffic police officers said the tanker was passing through the Wadi Bunder junction on P DMello Road at 3 am on Wednesday when its hydraulic system failed. The tanker got stuck on the road due to which the entire road got blocked.

Only after the tanker got repaired at 2.10 pm did the traffic flow ease. Being an arterial road,there is a heavy flow of traffic on the road throughout the day. Due to one tanker,the entire road got clogged for half the day. The commuters faced problems,but we had diverted the traffic from GPO junction directly to the Carnac Bridge to JJ Flyover and displayed the message to avoid the road on the visual system throughout the city, said M Patil,senior police inspector.
