Tata Starbucks announced the opening of its first stores at Terminal 3 of New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, on Thursday. Of the initial two stores to be opened, one will be located at the international terminal while the other at the domestic.

"With this launch Starbucks forays into a new market segment and expands the number of stores, reaching more customers in the market," the company said in a statement.

Starbucks also plans to extend its presence in the travel segment by launching stores at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai by the end of March.

The store at international airport will be open 24 hours while the domestic terminal store will be open from 5 am to 9 pm. The stores at the airport will offer a differentiated breakfast menu to cater to travelers. "We look forward to extending the unique Starbucks experience and meeting the increasing demand for high quality coffee within travel channels in India," Starbucks CEO, Avani Saglani Davda, said.

Starbucks entered the Indian market in October, 2012, with the launch of three stores in Mumbai and plans to open an outlet in Delhi by early February 2013.
