Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address students of various schools from across the state through video conference on Teachers Day on Saturday.
Government spokesperson Jay Narayan Vyas said Modis speech will be broadcast live in 7,600 primary schools and 4,391 secondary schools,which have computers with LCD screens,410 colleges and 90 self-financed institutes and 62 government polytechnics. The address will also be broadcast on 8,000 e-gram panchayats and local cable services.
Modi will also honour 35 teachers from across the state for their outstanding contribution in the field of education. Each of them will be given a cash reward of
Rs 21,000 and a certificate by the Chief Minister at a felicitation function to be held in Ahmedabad.
The Mookh Dhwani Trust,which runs a school for the hearing impaired students in Vadodara,will install Electronic Attendance Recording System (EARS) in the school on this occasion.
Initially,the system will be there for the staff members. EARS will be installed for the students later on. This will help us get rid of registers to maintain attendance, said Rikesh Desai,honorary secretary of the trust,on the eve of Teachers Day.
Baroda Citizens Council,a city-based non-government organisation,will hold a kids carnival for the mentally challenged students at Gujarat Public School between 3 pm and 6 pm.
