The national team that participated at the recently concluded Malaysian Rally saw Sanjay Takale of Pune finish third in the AAM Malaysian 4×4 Rally held in Serebram Malaysia.

The rally which covered 600 km saw teams from Thailand,India,Malaysia,Japan, and Singapore participate. This was the first ever win for a driver from the city at an international tournament, said a press note.

The rally ran on the CS format and on day one had two stages from the Mah Plantation to SiC,and Palm Plantation which saw the drivers from Thailand gain an early lead.

Being well acclimatised with the terrain of the region, the Malaysians were also in hot pursuit but over the second day of the race,India slowly climbed up the race ladder to diminish the lead and take third place. The tournament had seen 20 entries for the race, and was one of the toughest terrains as it featured dry river beds, dense forests, hostile dirt terrains and water streams during the course of the race.
