  • A triumphant Indian cricket team returned home from the West Indies after winning its fifth consecutive one-day series. The squad boarded a connecting flight from London, which landed at approximately 0100 hours at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

Most of the players barring skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, all-rounder Abhishek Nair and batsman Rohit Sharma managed to avoid the media glare and sneaked through the backdoor. The team won the first and third one-dayer, at Kingston and Gros Islet, to clinch the four match series 2-1. West Indies won the second ODI by eight wickets, while the fourth and final match of the series was washed out.

The battle-weary team, which had a grueling last season, will enjoy a welcome two-month break before heading off to Sri Lanka in September, where it will participate in a tri-series also involving New Zealand.
