The state government will constitute special teams in each district to tackle dengue. Sanjay Agarwal,Principal Secretary of Medical and Health,and Durga Shankar Mishra,Principal Secretary of Urban Development,informed the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday. The team will function under District and ensure the implementation of various decisions to control dengue in the state,the officials told the court,which was hearing a PIL seeking actions for safeguards against dengue. Agarwal told the court that the state government had held a meeting on August 6 laying down the instructions for all the CMOs and other medical officers with respect to prevention of dengue. The bench comprising Justices Pradeep Kant and Ritu Raj Awasthi said it is the duty of the state government to see that proper facilities are provided for prevention of communicable diseases. It also observed that no fogging was being done in Lucknow this year for prevention of mosquito breeding and asked Mishra to monitor the work at his level.
