Techie stabbed,robbed of car,phone

Unidentified assailants allegedly stabbed a 27-year-old software programmer and later fled with his car and other valuables in Northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar area early on Tuesday,police said.

Unidentified assailants allegedly stabbed a 27-year-old software programmer and later fled with his car and other valuables in Northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar area early on Tuesday,police said. The victim,identified as Vivek Choudhary,is undergoing treatment at St Stephen’s Hospital.

According to police,the incident was reported around 1.45 am on Sewadham Road in Harsh Vihar,when Choudhary was returning home in his Hyundai Santro car after dropping a friend at the IGI Airport.

“Choudhary told police that while he was crossing Sewadham Road,he had to slow down as the road was uneven and broken. His window was rolled down halfway. A man suddenly appeared,barged into his car and took out the key from the ignition. A few others arrived and forced him out of the car. When he resisted,they stabbed him twice,once on his shoulder and then in his thigh. The gang escaped with his car,mobile phone and wallet,” said a senior police officer.

The victim was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital,and later referred to the St Stephen’s Hospital.

“His condition is stable and a case under appropriate sections of the IPC have been registered,” said the officer. Choudhary works at a firm located in Bhikaji Cama Place.
