A teen couple were hacked to death after they were caught in a compromising position in the girl’s house in Meerut on Friday morning.

Four of the girl’s cousins were named in the case and one of them was arrested in the evening.

The incident occurred at Kina Nagar village in Bhawanpur, said Sharad Sachan, Meerut Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural).

Manoj Gaderiya (19), a resident of the village, was found dead inside the house of Kalua Ansari around 10 am. The body of Ansari’s daughter Afsana (18) was found in the lane outside her house. Both had been attacked with sharp-edged weapons.

Sachan said Wasim, the man arrested, revealed that the family was not at home when Afsana called Manoj. They returned to find the two in a compromising position.

Wasim and his three brothers attacked the couple, killing them on the spot. They dumped the girl’s body outside the house and escaped.

In another incident in Bareilly, a youth was shot dead after he was caught with a girl in Bithrichainpur late on Thursday night. The girl’s father — who shot the youth — and two of his relatives were arrested later. The Deputy Inspector General, Bareilly, Aditya Mishra, said the victim, Guddu (21) was having an affair with Sardar Dalip Singh’s daughter and Dalip caught them in a compromising position last night.

He shot the youth with his licensed gun.

Late at night, the cops took the body for postmortem. But the locals, under the impression that the accused had concealed the body, attacked Dalip Singh’s house on Friday morning and set it on fire. The police had to use force to disperse the agitated crowd.
