A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her Kandivali home on Tuesday evening, the police said.
Rani Gupta, a Class IX student, lived with her parents in Ganesh Nagar.
According to the police, Rani in her suicide note said she was taking the extreme step on her own and did not hold anyone responsible.
"Her father, Ram Gupta, said she had been under stress due to her studies for several days. We have registered a case of accidental death and the investigation is underway," said Harishchandra Pimple, senior inspector, Kandvali police station.
