A teenager paid with his life for objecting to a 60-year-old who tried to jump a queue at Bharatmata Cinema in Parel Monday. Brothers Ajay (19) and Tushar (23) Khamkar had gone to the threatre to watch a matinee show. As they stood in the queue, Ashok Chavan tried to cut in. An argument ensued and Chavan fled. Fault in tracks delays WR services
Suburban services on Western Railway were disrupted on Monday after a fault on two tracks near Marine Lines station was noticed at 11.26 am. The fault was repaired by 11.43 am but services remained affected till 1.20 due to bunching of trains. Twelve trains were cancelled. As a result, thousands of commuters were stranded at stations and on trains. ens
11 held for racing bikes on Expressway
Kherwadi police arrested 11 motorcyclists for allegedly racing on the Western Express Highway early on Monday. Police said residents of Bandra East complained around 1am about a group of 10-11 motorcyclists racing. Police reached the spot near Deepak Wadi and arrested 11 men. They have been charged with rash driving. The accused were presented before a court on Monday and remanded in judicial custody. Police said the men are aged 19 to 30 years. Some are college students while others do petty jobs, police said.
