A teenager charged a cop in the Kashmere Gate area of sodomy on Thursday evening. Police said the 17-year-old has claimed that the cop snatched Rs 200 from him after the act. A medical examination at a nearby government hospital has confirmed sodomy and a case under IPC Section 377 (unnatural sex) has been registered against unknown assailants. Police said that Nasir (name changed) works at a mirror shop in Mori Gate and his shift usually got over by 7.30 pm. On Thursday, he was waiting for a bus when a policeman approached him.“The man in uniform came to me and threatened me with a lathi. He said that he had been looking for me for several days in connection with a theft in the area. He caught me by the arm and took me to a nearby Agrasen Park, which was deserted. There he told me to get alcohol, which I refused. He got very angry at this, tore my clothes and pinned me down,” Nasir said. Nasir went home at Barghat Mohalla in Kashmere Gate in torn clothes and told his parents of the incident. His uncle immediately called the police.“He was taken for a medical examination to the Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, which confirmed sodomy. A case was immediately registered at the Kashmere Gate Police Station. On Friday, he was taken to the area for identification of the accused, and a few beat constables were also paraded in front of him. Nobody has been identified as yet,” a senior police officer said. The boy told the police that the cop was a constable, judging from his uniform. Police said though there was medical evidence of sodomy, they were not entirely sure of the boy’s allegations as there had been many contradictions in his statement.
