The Nirmal Nagar police on Monday arrested two teenagers for allegedly abducting and raping a four-year-old girl. According to police, the girl was abducted by one of the accused on Sunday night. The Nirmal Nagar police said the victim was playing outside her house at Shantilal compound in Kherwadi around 10 pm on Sunday, when she was abducted by a 17-year-old boy who stays in the same area.

“He took her to his house, as there was nobody at home at that time. Later he was joined by his friend who is also from the same area. Both of them allegedly raped her and allowed her to go home,” said Prashant Bagade, senior police inspector, Nirmal Nagar police station.

When the victim’s father, a pani puri seller, returned home around midnight , she complained of pain and told him about the incident. Following this, he filed a complaint at the Nirmal Nagar police station, said police.

However, the victim was taken to V N Desai Hospital for a medical check-up. Meanwhile, the police arrested both the accused from their residence in the same area on Monday afternoon. The duo would be produced in court on Tuesday, said Bagade. He added that they were investigating whether the accused had a past criminal record and whether they had abused the victim before this. In a separate incident, two teenagers were arrested a week ago in Shahunagar and Cuffe Parade.
