Unidentified persons on Sunday night ransacked a Hanuman temple and damaged the idol before trying to set another shrine in Orissa’s Sundergarh district on fire. Security was stepped up in the area in view of the tension following the recent clashes in Kandhamal.
“Miscreants tried to torch the main door of a temple at Sagbahal while an idol of Lord Hanuman was damaged at Peruapada,” SP Narsingh Bhol said.
