Bombay HC stayed I&B Ministry's order to re-schedule the broadcast time of the 'adult' programmes.

In a temporary relief for the producers of hit TV reality show ‘Bigg Boss’,the Bombay High Court on Thursday stayed Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry’s order to re-schedule the broadcast time of the programme.

The High Court will also issue a notice to the ministry scheduling the next hearing for November 22. As a result, the show can now be aired during the prime time till then.

The court remarked that the Ministry should have issued a show cause notice before directing the channel to broadcast the show between 11 pm and 5 am.

The Ministry had yesterday asked Colors channel to re-schedule the broadcast time on the ground that the programme was unfit to be watched by children and “offended good taste and decency”.

With the I&B ministry pushing back from telecast of reality shows like Bigg Boss 4 on Colors and Rakhi Ka Insaaf on NDTV Imagine from prime time band to post 11pm,the broadcasters stand to take 30% dip in revenues generated from advertising.
