Sachin Tendulkar sustained a cut on his cheek and was lucky not to have broken his nose after collapsing in his hotel room.

Sachin Tendulkar sustained a cut on his cheek and was lucky not to have broken his nose after collapsing in his hotel room on the eve of Indias last Champions Trophy match against the West Indies.

Tendulkar apparently had a stomach infection after Indias match against Australia and when he returned to his hotel room,the seasoned batsman started feeling giddy.

He subsequently collapsed on the floor and sustained a cut mark on his left cheek,besides a black spot on his nose.

Even though no information was forthcoming from the team management about the incident,media reports quoted Tendulkar as saying that he ate something at the stadium in Centurion after Indias washed out match against Australia and that probably led to the stomach infection.

Tendulkar subsequently skipped match against the West Indies.
