Terror suspect has links with Saeed: Chidambaram

The terror suspect arrested in the capital 'does have' links with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafiz Saeed,Home Minister P Chidambaram said.

The terror suspect arrested in the capital “does have” links with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafiz Saeed,Home Minister P Chidambaram said on Friday.

“The man arrested in Delhi does have links with Hafeez Saeed,” he told reporters here when asked about the arrest of Mohammed Omar Madni by the Special Cell of Delhi Police near Qutab Minar on Thursday.

Complimenting the Delhi Police for the arrest,he said it “is a measure of the good intelligence and good investigative work done by our intelligence agencies and police.”

Police had recovered USD 8,000,Rs 50,000 worth fake Indian currency and Rs 40,000 in Nepalese currency from Madni’s possession.

It also said that Madni,a resident of Bihar,was in charge of recruiting young men and sending them to Pakistan through Nepal for training in arms and explosives.
