A couple was killed in a terror attack by a group of militants in Kandi belt of Rajouri district on late Friday night. The deceased couple was identified as Mohammad Latief Khan,35 years,son of Aminullah Khan,and his wife Kulseem Akhtar,28 years,both residents of Danga village in the hilly belt of Kandi police station of Rajouri district. Official source said that a group of unidentified terrorists struck in the house of Aminullah Khan on late Thursday night,killing his son Mohammad Latief along with wife. Station House Officer,Kandi police station,Sureshwar Dev Singh said that no other family members were present in the house except the couple,when the unidentified terrorists struck in the house. The terrorists gunned down the couple by spraying bullets into their bodies,the SHO said adding that the reason for the militant attack on the couple is not yet known. He added that the incident came to be known only on Saturday morning,when some villagers informed the Kandi police. The house is located in the hilly belt,and there are just about three houses at some distance,the SHO said adding that none of the neighbours could hear the firing in the night. Other family members of the couple have gone outside to some relatives,he stated. Soon after the information,a police team rushed to the house and the bodies were taken into custody for conduct of post mortem,the SHO said adding that a joint combing operation along with the army troops,has been started in the area to trace out the terrorists,who managed to escape under the cover of darkness after executing the terrorist strike. He added that an investigation to find out the reason for the attack has been initiated. Meanwhile,senior police officials of the district were also rushed to the spot from Rajouri town.
