Supermodel Elle Macpherson has been awarded USD 4 million after winning a court battle against the liquidators of an Icelandic bank which collapsed in the financial crisis.
The 46-year-old took PricewaterhouseCoopers,the liquidators of the bank Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander,to the High Court in the Isle of Man,where the bank was registered,reported Daily Mail online.
The Australian supermodel,known as ‘The Body’ had faced losing money tied up with the bank after she used it to buy a multi-million-pound house in West London.
Macpherson,eventually sold the house last October for USD 10 million.
The model-turned-businesswoman decided to take action after PWC refused to allow her to “set off” deposits she had with the bank against money owed by her company to KSF for a mortgage on the property.
