Crazy conflicts, extreme emotional drama, high-pressure situations and tear-jerking moments — the Bigg Boss house has enough twists and turns to make a Bollywood film. Producers of the show on Colors think so too. On Tuesday, they announced their plan of making a film based on Bigg Boss. And wait — it's going to be a horror comedy. "We will be experimenting with a new director as well as star cast comprising actors from the small screen and Bollywood. A few housemates from the previous seasons of Bigg Boss are also being approached," says Deepak Dhar, CEO of Endemol India, producers of the show. Shooting for the film, which is in the scripting stage, will begin in early 2013. This is, possibly, the first time in the history of Indian television that a reality show is being made into a feature film. Dhar adds that the film with have powerful visuals and will be packaged as a mass entertainer, especially for regional audiences.
The television show is currently in its sixth season and has actor Salman Khan as the eponymous host who mediates and interacts with the contestants and reveals eliminations every week as per the voting system. "One of the advantages of the show is its ability to cut across all age-groups. We want to replicate this very quality in a film format," adds Dhar. Move over Cullens, the Bigg Boss housemates are here.
