  • Information & Broadcasting Secretary Sushma Singh is retiring on May 31 but has managed to cause quite a resentment in the last lap. It is learnt that a small team from the I&B Ministry, mainly comprising officials of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF), was to go to Cannes to get a feel of the high-profile international film festival. Singh wasn’t originally slated for the Cannes visit but in last-minute changes she decided to take her last official junket to France even though she will not be around to see what lessons learnt from Cannes can be employed at Indian film festivals. The unexpected move led to a key DFF official being dropped from the delegation and caused quite a heartburn at DFF.
