  • Just imagine if one day you were to get up with a hangover, no memory of the previous night, and a girl on your bed, who is not your wife! Mess is waiting next for sure. This is what is experienced by Ketan Mehta in the play Y…ME, directed by Jitendra Pawar. "It is a funny one-day episode of a man's battle with the local quack while trying to deflect the advances from the far-too-forward bellhop," says Pawar.

Talking about the plot of the story, Pawar adds, "Y… ME is a funny fiction about a couple Preeti and Ketan Mehta who is all set to enjoy a short, all-expenses-paid trip to Mumbai to watch the Filmfare awards. When both of them reach the city separately due to work reasons Ketan ends up in an endless series of hilarious ups and downs when he wakes up one day with a strange girl in his bed. He also realises that he has lost the passes for the award function he had come to attend. The next day when his wife arrives he lands into a mess and struggles to keep her and the girl apart and as he tries to make sense out of his disaster, he pleads, "God, Y…Me!"

Enacted by professional youngsters from Pune, the play is a fictional comedy created by Pawar, who is the founder and CEO of Niche Stagekraft, which has been making theatricals for the past seven years. "I had read many short stories on such incidents, and I always wanted to make such a comedy play. Currently, we are doing a lot of rehearsals. The play will be staged for the first time on Sunday," says Pawar.
