So the preparations began six months in advance,for the event that will be held from March 25 to 27. “The highlights of this year include seminars,lectures,workshops and exhibitions. Moreover,there are technical competitions like Junkyard Wars,Bulls and Bears,Design-O-Victors and Cryptus,that will encourage budding technocrats to think of technological innovations,” says Virmani,looking at the itinerary that lists 40-plus events,including a sub-section titled ‘Kalpana’. “Kalpana will have events that will emphasise on the importance of going green and discuss the significance of Earth Day,” point out event coordinators Arpita Aggarwal and

Sidharth Sharma. Mansi Babbar adds that the festival will also feature contests for school children.

With about 60 students of final year and 40 of third year involved in the conceptualisation and organisation of the festival,events will be designed around varied fields,including robotics,aeronautical,designing,mechanical,civil and computer science. “Students from all fields can challenge themselves,exhibit their skills and learn from others,” says Amandeep Jakhu,final year student,who shares that separate organising committees have been formed for teams like publicity,designing,publicity,marketing,event coordination,public relations,hospitality,logistics,finance,alumni relations and merchandise.

The website vyom.net.in is already uploaded on the web. “Now the students simply need to log on and register themselves,” says Sahil Thapa,member of the design team.
