Yograj Singh plays ‘Brahmchari Thanedar’ in his next film

Sometimes Yograj Singh wishes his sons didn’t have that big an age difference between them. “Zorawar is nine years younger to Yuvraj, and I wish he was born within a year or so of Yuvi’s birth…that way,I would’ve trained them together,” he says. But fate had other plans – while Yuvi’s hitting sixers,Zorawar is preparing to clean bowl all the girls with his good looks and starry presence. “He’s in Mumbai taking acting and dancing lessons,” informs the proud dad, here at the Press Club to announce his Punjabi feature film ‘Brahmchari Thanedar’. A Kalkat Production House presentation, the shooting of the film will begin in Chandigarh on April 30. “We’ll be shooting a song at the Sector 17 Plaza tomorrow,” says producer Paramjit Singh, while director Rajesh Sharma chips in with the storyline. “It’s an issue-based film on NRI weddings and subsequent problems these alliances face due to distance and age and cultural difference.”

“A lot of NRI grooms marry simple village based Indian girls, and then leave them here with children. Most of them hardly return, and children grow up fatherless….nobody comes to the rescue of these brides. This film,Brahmchari Thanedar, addresses this issue,” adds the director. The film also stars Neha Sharma,Vandana Sharma,Nirmal Rishi,Rekha Dogra,Sapna Brar,Aarti,Surendra Sharma,Rajendra Gill,Baljeet Jakhmi,Dr Rajendra Sharma and Harsh Handa.

Meanwhile, the star is Yograj, the honest,Hanuman ka bhakt cop,the ‘Brahmchari Thanedar’,who takes this up and brings the culprits to justice. “Before this film,we did another one called Kadwa Sach, and there too,we picked the issue of the girl child, and how she deserves to live, like an equal human being,” says Yograj, busy with his telly projects, films, and two ace players – “Watch out for Manan Vohra and Sumit Dhiman, budding cricketers,” he says.
