  • There’s no avoiding Ranbir Kapoor in the next two months

After playing a spoilt rich brat in Wake Up Sid , Ranbir Kapoor is back with a romantic comedy, Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahani, which releases on November 6. “I apologise for not giving you guys a break from me. But with the end of the multiplex strike, I have a backlog of films ready for release,” said Kapoor at the Capital where he was parked for the promotion of the film, along with director Rajkumar Santoshi and costar Katrina Kaif.

And it came as no surprise that Santoshi, who was making his comeback in comedy after a decade, jumped in to hard-sell his film. “I am not in the business of making comedies that poke fun at a particular community,” said Santoshi pointedly. “A good comedian should be able to laugh at himself, which is what Ranbir and Katrina Kaif are doing in the film.” Kapoor’s comedy idol, meanwhile, is Govinda.

There is more of Kapoor to come —Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year in December and Rajneeti in January. “I am really selfish and ambitious and want to work with all the good directors,” he says, before heading for his next project with Siddharth Anand in Anjaana Anjaani.
