The Other Side

For a touch of whimsy, nothing beats a flower in the hair. And keep it fresh all day long, with a synthetic one like in this picture.

The head piece
FOR a touch of whimsy, nothing beats a flower in the hair. And keep it fresh all day long, with a synthetic one like in this picture. The key to looking like a stylissima,as opposed to fashion victim,is to keep it fun and colourful, but simple in style and form. Go for the simple flower before you aim for Madonna’s oversized bow from her Papa Don’t Preach days or one of Little Shilpa’s outré pieces.

The statement necklace
IF the ’80s gave us oversized earrings, the nineties gave us the statement necklace. The aim was to make the necklace the centrepiece of your look and various designers, including Dries Van Noten,Lanvin,Marni and even our very own Savio Jon came up with massive breastplates and bibs that could at times overwhelm the look. What we like about this one is how it merges seamless with the outfit, while also creating an impact. Who wants to look like they’re wearing armour anyway?

Future footers
Narendra Kumar’s futuristic line of clothes delighted us with their functionality as well as design audacity. That is why we were happy to spot these pair of shoes, with their space-age feel and sexy cut-outs. The trend is already visible on international runways with Givenchy’s space-warrior boots and Prada’s minimalistic, transparent footwear. It’s time to take fashion where it has never gone before.
