  • After the change of guard at ISRO, another high-profile scientific position is up for grabs, that of Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). With just one month to go for Dr Anil Kakodkar to retire, the race for this position has started to hot up. Insiders say the formal process of finding a successor is still to start. In scientific circles, however, BARC Director Sreekumar Banerjee is being tipped as the most favaourite for the job, which also carries the ex-officio position of chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.
